Rhonda Avner RN, BSN, is the school nurse for the Abraham Joshua Heschel School for the past 22 years, and is a nurse at Camp Moshava  I.O. for the last 15 years. In her role as a school and sleep away camp nurse, Rhonda sees the emotional and physical impact on children who struggle with learning, and is very passionate about the mission of Yeshivat Shalshelet. She feels strongly that children need a school that fits their individual educational and religious needs to become confident, successful learners, which in turn will promote physically and emotionally healthy children.

Rhonda has been involved in many organizations, since moving to Teaneck 30 years ago. She is on the Executive Board of Emunah of America and was the Teaneck chapter president and treasurer, served on the board of TABC, was on the committee and chaired the Project S.A.R.A.H. breakfast.  Additionally, Rhonda has served in many roles at Congregation Bnai Yeshurun, specifically, past president and treasurer of the sisterhood, chair of the welcome committee, a member of the Board, 3rd vice president of the Executive Board, past and current co-chair of the Gala Kiddush, a member of the Chevra kadish and most recently was on the Rabbinic search committee.

Rhonda and her husband, Jeff, are the proud parents of Arly & Ari Klein, Seth & Tova Avner, Deena & Ari Bardash and Yehuda & Tamar Avner, and a bunch of adorable grandchildren.
