Utilizing research and evidence based methodology and multi-sensory instruction (e.g., Orton-Gillingham based instruction), Yeshivat Shalshelet’s student-centered approach is tailored to build on each child’s strengths, while providing them with the tools necessary to navigate their academic challenges. Small group reading, writing, math and kriya lessons allow for teachers to provide individualized instruction and attention, build upon foundational skills and meet each child at his or her academic level.
Essential to our students’ personal growth and academic success is their social-emotional development and well-being. We seek to cultivate a strong sense of self and belonging in each of our students through explicit instruction in our social-emotional curriculum. Providing students with an understanding of who they are as learners, and the language to navigate complex dynamics, will foster deep self-confidence and a growth mindset.
At Yeshivat Shalshelet’s core is the development of Bnei and Bnot Torah. With an emphasis on learning and living a Torah lifestyle, students will be immersed in a robust academic program, focusing on Chumash, Torah Sheh Ba’al Peh, middot and tefillah. Through an immersive experiential program, we are committed to instilling in our students a love of Torah and mitzvot and a strong connection to the Jewish community.
Central to our Yeshiva is a love of Eretz Yisrael and deep commitment to Medinat Yisrael. We seek to imbue our students with an appreciation for the Land of Israel, the Hebrew language and Torat Eretz Yisrael.
Parent engagement and partnership is integral to Yeshivat Shalshelet’s mission. Communication between parents and professionals help parents and teachers support and enhance student learning and personal achievement. Parent participation in school functions and initiatives cultivates a strong relationship between the school, families and the broader community.
